The core responsibilities of the position include:

 

  • Drive new projects and upgrade existing Automation related projects
  • Conduct a squad check on all drawings for release of projects
  • Conduct fault findings on all Hulamin major control systems (ABB, SIEMENS, ROCKWELL, Allen Bradley…)
  • Conduct factory acceptance test on behalf of Hulamin
  • Analyze alarms and provide feedback
  • Prepare Planned maintenance schedules in the plant
  • Responsible for long-term lifecycles of PLC and DCS systems and highlight end of life
  • Ensure all spares for PLC, DCS and related equipment are on the Maximo system asset register
  • Perform standby duties from a central perspective for plant support
  • Basic faultfinding on PLC and SCADA systems (ABB, SIEMENS, ROCKWELL, Allen Bradley…)
  • Provide the plant with support on Automation systems
  • Provide support on SCADA systems such as Wonderware, Intouch, System Platform etcetera
  • Support on industrial networking (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, AF100)
  • Keep the PLC data base up to date with regular plant audits
  • Assist the Drives team with Standby rotation

 

The requirements of the position include:

  • N6 / T4 Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
  • Good knowledge of plant and process
  • +/- 3 years’ experience in PLC / DCS systems
  • General knowledge of AC and DC drives
  • Attention to details
  • Display practical hands-on approach with the ability to read schematic drawings
  • Knowledge of iba and how to interpret the data
