Production and Inventory Clerk
The core responsibilities of the position include:
- Preparation of all inventory, debtors & creditors movement schedules and accounting entries
- Validating material costs & material receipts, making provisions
- Reconciliation of invoices for the purchase of raw materials and scrap
- Submission of payment requests for raw material purchases
- Review, analysis and reconciliation of inventory and scrap general ledger accounts
- Assistance with the interim and year-end inventory counts
- Assistance with the preparation of VAT reconciliations and returns
- Preparation of schedules required for monthly management accounts and reporting
- Support with internal and external audits
- Assistance with queries and analysis of raw materials and inventory
- Liaise with the creditors, planning and other departments as required
- Ad hoc tasks as and when required
- Matric and progress towards an accounting qualification
- Experience in a finance department in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Ability to work with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer literacy, with strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Understanding of management accounting and costing principles will be an added advantage.
