Process Specialist – Role Grinding & Surface

The core responsibilities of the position include:

• Assume responsibility for Roll Grinding Processes and technology within Hulamin (ED and CD).
• Leading strategic roll grinding improvement projects.
• Responsible for the roll management system within Hulamin.
• Assume responsibility for the roll grinding and roll building team.
• Use advanced statistical / analytical tools to optimize roll grinding performance.
• As the Roll Grinding Custodian across site, the individual is required to foster strong partnerships with other process teams across Hulamin.
• Play a leading role in surface optimization within Cold Rolling.
• Lead process problem solving initiatives and implement necessary improvements to improve process capabilities within the Cold Rolling area with a primary focus on surface. (Roll Grinding as well as other surface related improvements).

Required competencies and abilities

• BTech / BSc Engineering (Mechanical)
• Proven track record in Mechanical Engineering field (Minimum of 5 Years)

• A good understanding and experience of Roll Grinding, with Cold Rolling (Knowledge of Hot rolling would be an added advantage.

• Knowledge of manufacturing principles and economics of manufacturing
• Project management and engineering skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills a minimum requirement
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in using Microsoft systems.
• Good leadership, organization and team building skills.
